Rising demand for parking
The purchase of the car park package from the infrastructure operator Indigo in 2018 marked the Saba’s entry into the Czech Republic, operation of which began with the French group in 1995.
The business model adopted is based on concessions, management contracts and leases. The vision with all of this is to meet demand for alternative solutions and provide facilities in terms of urban mobility, as the company is primarily present in the centre of Prague and at its hospitals.
Infrastructure construction and the car park market in the Czech Republic are in full swing. The country historically had low vehicle ownership ratios, but more people own cars now thanks to GDP growth. Demand for parking facilities has been boosted significantly with this. Saba then seeks to preserve the company’s long-term business profile to respond to these needs.
One of the company's most relevant contracts in the country is the management of the Vinohrady Hospital (425 beds) in Prague, the country's capital. In 2023, Saba took over the management of the Písnice car park, also in Prague, with 250 spaces.
